Aesnops Fabled Power Rankings: Week 3, WHAT DO I DO NOW

Week 3 shakes up the top 5, and gives us new teams to keep an eye on.  The previous #1 Brewers drop down to #5, to the relief of their manager.  The White Sox, previously #2 take their spot with a drubbing of the best winless team, the Blue Jays.  The Hornets go from just missing the top 5 to being solidly in the middle of everything, managing to knock off the previously mentioned Brewers. Two 2-1 teams fill the last slots of the top 5.  Just missing this week include the other undefeated teams, the Orioles and the Wombats. We had a heckuva time deciding between the Brewers and the Wombats, finally deciding the victory of the Red Sox is worth slightly more than a victory over the Pirates.

1)   White Sox. +79 differential     3-0

They’ve beaten 3 teams without sparkling records, but they’ve also scored more than 40 twice.  This early in the season, that’s enough for the #1 spot. Next week vs the Wombats looms large.

2)   Mariners.   +71 differential     3-0

Winning against the Giants looks better week by week.  The offense has proven it’s here to stay, the defense has proven to be tough to score more than 15 against.

3)  Hornets       +63 differential    3-0

Slept on early, the Hornets continue to show you sleep at your own risk.  They took the marquee matchup and turned it into a rout early. Ellman is showing what happens when your favorite child gets all the attention.

4)  GIants         +46 differential    2-1

With their only loss against the #2 team on this list and with a free slugging offense that should lead the league in HRs, Crazy is showing off Derby strats in the middle of games.

5)  Brewers.     +16 Differential      2-1

Turns out Jibbo needed his mouse this week. He let the pressure get to him and forgot that in a game featuring kids, sometimes it’s about how much fun you have along the way, not the end result.  With this loss behind him, maybe we’ll see a looser, more upbeat squad not afraid of letting their manager down.
